AFTER more than a quarter of a century in the town, the British Heart Foundation (BHF) is closing its Clydebank store.

The charity shop, located on Sylvania Way, will shut its doors for the last time on Christmas Eve, it has been confirmed.

The charity says the closure decision is because its lease on the premises is coming to an end.

Cheryl Hughes, the BHF's area manager, said the decision was not made lightly and thanked the local community for supporting the charity over the decades.

Ms Hughes said: “After 26 years of business in the area, our lease has come to an end, and sadly the Clydebank BHF shop on Sylvania Way will close on December 24.

“We did not take this decision lightly and we would like to thank our wonderful staff, volunteers, customers, and donors for all their amazing support over the years.

"We would urge the local community to still bear us in mind if they are having a clear-out in the coming weeks.

"While our home store may be closing, you can still donate pre-loved clothes, books, and accessories at our Clydebank shop or via our new freepost service.

"You can also use our free collection service to donate furniture and homeware. Customers can shop online with us at our BHF eBay store.

“Each item bought or donated goes towards helping us raise vital funds for life-saving research into heart and circulatory diseases.”
