FIRE crews have issued an update after a blaze broke out at a fast food restaurant in Knightswood on Wednesday.

Firefighters responded to the scene at Freddies Food Club, at 2139 Great Western Road after the alarm was raised at around 3.44pm. 

Operations control mobilised three appliances to tackle the fire.

Now, crews have confirmed that the blaze was extinguished and that there were no reported injuries.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 3.44pm on Wednesday, August 3, to reports of a building fire affecting commercial premises on Great Western Road, Glasgow.

"Operations Control mobilised two appliances and a height vehicle to the scene, where crews extinguished the fire.

"There are no reported casualties."
