Bankies are being urged to be on their guard over a scam featuring cold callers pretending to be from the Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB).
The West Dunbartonshire CAB (WDCAB) has issued the warning after an increase in reports of people being contacted and asked for their financial details.
They have also highlighted the fake number used by the callers - 0141 489 0742 - reiterating that it is not a number used by WDCAB.
Protecting the vulnerable
A spokesperson for WDCAB said: "People in West Dunbartonshire are being urged to make friends and family aware of potential callers claiming to be from the Citizens Advice Bureau.
"We'll never cold call you and ask about debt, benefits or any other issues.
"We can all do our part to help protect those who may be more vulnerable to this type of scam by passing this message on."
