KEEN golfers from Babcock at HMNB Clyde, and the Royal Navy, took to the greens recently to raise funds for charity.
The Babcock versus Royal Navy golf match took place at Cardross Golf Club and raised £1,500 for Helensburgh and Lomond Foodbank.
With the support of Babcock, which paid for the cost of the event, and Cardross Golf Club, which discounted the green fees for players, a total of £1,500 was raised. Each of the 34 players donated £35 to the event, as well as donations for a lucky dip raffle.
Cardross Golf Club, Dumbarton Golf Club and The Carrick all supported the raffle, generously donating vouchers for a four-ball at their courses.
A family bag from the foodbank costs £38, with the donation helping to provide almost 40 bags of food for local families.
