THREE people have been taken to hospital after allegedly being assaulted by a group of young thugs in Clydebank.

The first attack reportedly took place at around 12.40am on Saturday (June 18) when a man, aged 43, and a woman, aged 45, were walking through an underpass towards Kilbowie Road.

As they reached the road police say they were assaulted by a group of three men.

A second man, aged 44, who was crossing the road at the time, was also allegedly attacked by this group.

Emergency services rushed to the scene and the injured people were taken to hospital.

Officers are now appealing for information in identifying the suspected attackers while they continue to review CCTV footage from in and around the area.

The first suspect is described as white, aged between 15 and 20 years old, with blonde hair, and of a slim build.

A further suspect is described as white, aged between 15 and 20 years old, with dark hair, and is believed to have been wearing a light grey hoody, dark tracksuit bottoms, and carrying a black rucksack.

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

However, cops confirmed enquiries are ongoing.

Detective Constable Craig McGarry said: “These attacks have been completely unprovoked and it’s imperative we trace whoever is responsible.

"I am appealing to motorists and taxi drivers with dash cams, who were in Kilbowie Road in the early hours of this morning, to check their footage, they may have unknowingly captured images which would assist our investigation.

"If anyone has any information on this crime or the suspects, please get in touch.”
