A SCOTSTOUN man is to stand trial accused of raping a woman in a lane in Glasgow city centre
Neil Gallagher, 39, allegedly carried out the attack in the New Wynd area, near the Trongate, on September 10, 2019.
The charge claims the woman was "intoxicated and incapable of giving or with-holding consent".
It is further claimed Gallagher - who also uses the name McMurtie - did grab her by the body, neck, head, and hair.
He faces a separate charge that he acted in a threatening and abusive manner towards a man that day in the city's Glasgow Green.
The case first called at the High Court in Glasgow back in September 2020 where Gallagher's lawyer pled not guilty.
A trial has now been set and is due to begin in January next year.
Gallagher had his bail continued meantime.
