A MAN who allegedly stole a statue of the Commonwealth Games mascot had his trial postponed as he will be on his honeymoon.
Kevin Maguire, 39, is said to have taken the Clyde Crane statue to his home in Drumchapel between May and July 2021.
Court papers state Maguire found the "life-size statue" elsewhere without attempting to discover the true owner.
He was due to stand trial in early July on the single charge.
Maguire - who was not in attendance - continued to plead not guilty at a hearing through his lawyer.
Tony Callahan told Glasgow Sheriff Court: "There is a joint motion to adjourn the trial date.
"The reason being Mr Maguire is due to be married in July and will have a honeymoon."
Prosecutor Cheryl Lyons agreed with the motion, stating that a witness for the Crown is Maguire's partner, who will be going on honeymoon with him.
Miss Lyons also said that pictures of the Clyde Crane statue are still outstanding.
A trial has now been fixed for September and Maguire remains on bail.
