CLYDEBANK FC boss Gordon Moffat has paid tribute to the fans who have packed out the 'Bankies Bus' for the club's away games as a marathon season for the club nears its end.

Supporters will file on to the bus this Saturday, May 14, for the club's last league match of the season away to Largs Thistle.

And the organisers of the supporters' bus have also thanked the fans who have joined them on their travels during the campaign.

When the Bankies' season started last July, main convenor Fred McCosh organised the supporters' bus with vice-convenors Neil "Macca" McAllister and Douglas Clark running the social media page.

However with each game played more and more supporters have booked their space on the 'Bankies Bus' to see the team play on the road.

The bus only started with a dozen people, but the team's fine run of form on the road - with only two away defeats all season - means a whole bus is now regularly filled with supporters for matches away from Holm Park.

Douglas told the Post: "We started the season with a dozen fans in a minibus, going to Cumbernauld and Troon, to taking two buses to Elgin for the Scottish Cup win, and we had 45 on board to Kello in the Killie Pie Cup on Saturday.

"A thanks from us to everyone that has travelled with us and to let them all know we will continue to run a supporters bus next season too."

In a social media post on the Bankies Bus Facebook page, manager Gordon Moffat said: "All season you have been fantastic. We started with nine or ten and now we are filling a whole bus we can't tell you how much it helps us on the part seeing these away games.

"Seeing the backing it really helps us when we are travelling."

Fans looking to follow the team to Largs on Saturday can get in touch to book a space on the supporters bus via their Facebook page or on Twitter at @thebankiesbus.
