New CCTV images have been released in the search for an armed robbery suspect today.

A female member of staff was working alone at the Keystore on Blairdardie Road when the incident took place on Tuesday, March 8.

At around 4:15 pm a quantity of cash was stolen from the shop in what has been described as a 'traumatic ordeal' for the worker.

Police are now searching for a man who they believe will be able to assist them in their investifgations.

He is described as aged 30 to 50-years-old and of medium build.

At the time of the robbery he was wearing a balaclava, circular glasses, a blue jumper with a logo reading ‘Palmer & Co’, dark jeans and bright blue Adidas trainers with white stripes and white soles.

Anyone who might know or recognise him is asked to contact police Scotland as soon as possible.

Constable Victoria Steele said: “Nobody was injured during this incident but this was a traumatic ordeal for the member of staff working at the shop when this happened.

“I would urge anyone who recognises this man to contact Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident 2504 of March 8 2022, or report this anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
