A COMMUNITY testing centre in Whitecrook is now offering PCR Covid tests to residents.

West Dunbartonshire Council announced earlier this week that Clydebank Community East will now be offering PCR tests for those experiencing symptoms of virus.

It will also continue to offer routine lateral flow tests for those without any symptoms.

The test site on North Elgin Street will work on a drop-in basis, with no appointment necessary for people, and will be open Monday to Friday from 11am to 5.30pm.

In a social media statement Scottish Government health officials said: “The centres were set up to provide the public with easy access to lateral flow tests but have expanded in these locations to now offer symptomatic coronavirus testing.

“PCR tests taken at these sites will be processed at one of our three coronavirus regional hub laboratories run by the NHS in Scotland.”
