THE first cold snap of 2022 may only just arrived - but more freezing temperatures are on the way.
The Met Office has issued an overnight yellow weather warning for ice across the parts of the west of Scotland, covering the whole of Glasgow, West Dunbartonshire and Argyll and Bute.
The warning is in place from 3.30pm today until midnight.
As temperatures plummet, snow showers and icy stretches are likely to bring some travel disruption.
The Met Office has cautioned that some roads and railways are likely to be affected too, with longer journey times by road, bus and train services.

With icy patches on untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths expected, metereologists also warned the bad weather could lead to some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces.
Residents are being urged to be cautious on untreated surfaces.
This is the second Yellow 'be aware' weather warning issued for January 7, as commuters battled the elements this morning as roads were covered in heavy snow overnight.
This left some of the major roads in the west of Scotland blocked and busy.
