CLYDEBANK’S MSP says she is “extremely concerned” to hear reports of Linnvale residents being left scared to leave their homes by young yobs.

Linnvale Community Group took to social media claiming that three young people have been banging on doors of elderly residents and entering unlocked properties in the run-up to Christmas.

They said that the latest incident occurred on December 22 at 12.15pm where a door was opened and crashed shut in Kirkwood Avenue near Drumry railway station.

Youths are also alleged to have thrown eggs at some residents’ windows.

On the group’s Facebook page a spokesperson said: “This is something that we take very seriously as it’s really scaring our elderly residents.

“This is not a message we like putting out there but it’s something we cannot tolerate.”

Marie McNair MSP said: “I am extremely concerned to hear of these reports from the Linnvale Community Group.

“I have brought this to the attention of the police and Clydebank Housing Association as a matter of urgency.

“We must ensure that residents are able to go about their lives without being subjected to anti-social behaviour.”
