Firefighters put out a blaze which broke out in commercial premises in Barrhead last night (November 30).

Two fire engines rushed to Barrhead Dry Cleaning's shop in Main Street after the alarm was raised at 11.32pm.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted to reports of a fire in the ground floor of a two-storey building.

“Operations control immediately mobilised two fire engines to the location and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire.

“Crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe.”
