A SWAN stuck on the railway line between Clydebank and Dalmuir caused commuter chaos this morning.

The swan was spotted on the line in the Dalmuir area at around 5:45am.

Although Scotrail staff were quick to attend the scene, the bird was not successfully removed until 7:55am.

Train services between Dalmuir and Hyndland via Yoker had to be suspended to allow staff to get access to the track in a bid to remove the bird.

The line between Dalmuir and Clydebank stations was completely closed from around 6.30am to approximately 7.15am.

ScotRail organised replacement buses to keep rush hour commuters on the move.

All lines were finally re-opened at 7:55am with the swan safely moved.

ScotRail says members of the public should continue to expect delays and revisions to the service until 10am.
