There have been two more deaths in West Dunbartonshire related to Covid, according to the latest government figures.

Official statistics by the National Records of Scotland show that between Monday, November 15, and Sunday, November 21, two residents lost their lives in the area where Covid was mentioned on the death certificate.

However, last week there were no Covid deaths which was a first in three weeks.

It means that the number of people who have died from Covid in West Dunbartonshire in 2021 stands at 112.

A total of 290 Covid-related deaths have now been recorded in the area since the start of the pandemic.

Nicola Sturgeon gave her weekly Covid update to Parliament yesterday, during which she announced small scale changes to the vaccine passport scheme.

The First Minister confirmed that Scottish vaccine passport scheme will not be extended to include cinemas, theatres and other hospitality venues.

She also said that from December 6, a negative lateral flow test can be used instead of a vaccine passport where proof of vaccination is required.
