A WHITECROOK woman has been left disgusted at the “inconsiderate idiots” who left fireworks debris dumped in a local park.

The eyesore litter was found strewn on the park at the John Brown football pitches just after Bonfire Night.

Onlooker Michele Muir said: “I walk my dog on the pitches most days.

“I was just appalled at the mess and debris left behind clearly by individuals setting off fireworks.”

She described how the carelessly tossed away trash included burnt out rocket boxes and the remains of a “large bonfire”.

Michele added: “The sheer damage and mess left is just disgraceful. Who do they think is going to clean up after them?”

Staff from West Dunbartonshire Council have removed the debris and play on the pitches will not be affected.

A council spokesperson told the Post: “We are disappointed to see fire damage and litter left behind at Whitecrook Park following Bonfire Night.

“We condemn all vandalism and continue to encourage visitors to our parks to enjoy them in a responsible manner, including disposing of litter in one of the many available bins.”

Information about fire raising can be reported to Police Scotland on 101.
