A 50-year-old man was rushed to hospital last night with "serious injuries" after an incident in Clydebank.
Police were called around 6.30pm on Wednesday to reports of an injured man in the town's Second Avenue, near the intersection with Osborne Street, Radnor Park.
He was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
Police said a man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
A spokeswoman said: "Around 6.30 pm on Wednesday, October 27, police were called to an incident in Second Avenue, Clydebank, in which a 50-year-old man was allegedly seriously injured.
"He was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.
"A 44-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. He is due to appear at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Thursday, October 28.
"A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal."
