PEOPLE in Clydebank and surrounding areas who are eligible for a flu vaccination will begin receiving appointment letters this week.

The vaccination programme will call people forward from oldest first, so people aged 90 years old and over can expect to start receiving their appointment letters from this week.

People who are aged 70 and older, and those who were previously on the shielding list and are aged 16 and over, will receive a letter in the next coming weeks.

For everyone else aged 50 and over, the national online booking portal will be available from November, along with a dedicated national helpline - 0800 030 8013.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde says this year’s flu vaccination programme is significantly larger than previous years and the majority of vaccines will be administered at community clinics to enable flu vaccines to be administrated swiftly and safely.

West Dunbartonshire has two community vaccination centres, at Alexandria Community Centre and at The Hub in Clydebank. People who are eligible for a Covid-19 booster vaccination will receive that at the same time as their flu jag.
