A NEW father from Clydebank has won a once-in-a-lifetime £70k prize.

Kewesi ‘Ron’ Edwards paid £1.40 in hopes of winning a car to online competitions company BOTB.

The IT analyst was given a surprise visit at work when BOTB’s Sean Hall turned up to tell him he was this week’s winner and the new owner of a Audi RS3 - plus £20,000 richer.

“I can’t believe it,” he said. “This has come at the perfect time as we’ve just welcomed our little boy into the world.”

Ron and his partner Maria have just become parents to their first child.

He said: “It’s been a tricky couple of years for us after Maria lost her job during Covid. But my son has been a huge blessing and this win is just a beautiful surprise.”

Ron said he’d been playing BOTB for almost a year but plays for a different car each week so had no idea what he was going to find when Sean led him to his prize.

“I just don’t believe it,” he said. “I’m in absolute shock.”

The Audi RS3 Sportback is certainly an upgrade from Ron’s Vauxhall Insignia as it boasts 395bhp and runs at a top speed of 155mph.

After sitting in the car for the first time, he found an added surprise of £20,000 in the boot.

He said: “This couldn’t have come at a more perfect time.

“Now we’re parents and because Maria is out of work, it will be a huge help.”

Sean, who surprises the BOTB winners each week, said: “What a lovely family. It was a pleasure to meet Ron and Maria and surprise them with their dream car and cash. Massive congratulations once again.”
