A MAN annoyed at vans belonging to a nearby business being parked on his street threatened employees with a knife.

On June 24 last year, Eamonn Doherty called up Agmors Coachworks complaining about vehicles being parked near his home in Whiteinch.

At Glasgow Sheriff Court, prosecutor Ali Roy said: “Two of the employees arranged to meet with the accused to sort things out.

“When they attended at his street the accused was shouting ‘I’m going to f*****g do you, wait here and I’ll sort you out’.

“At this time, the witnesses observed the accused to emerge with a large kitchen knife. He held this out at his side whilst threatening to ‘do them in’.

Clydebank Post:

“Police were contacted and arrived shortly after. Officers attended at the accused’s home. He was continuing to shout and behave in an aggressive manner.

"He was arrested, cautioned and charged and made no reply.”

Doherty, 32, who was representing himself, told the court: “Nothing I say is going to change the outcome. I made a mistake and that’s it. It is what it is.”

Sheriff Jonathan Guy told him: “Having looked at all sentencing options, I’m minded to impose a restriction of liberty order.”

Doherty was ordered to stay within his home address, which is now in Partick, between 7pm-7am for 163 days.

The sheriff added: “This is a direct alternative to custody.”
