A CLYDEBANK drug dealer has pleaded guilty to having cocaine potentially worth £23,000 in his home.

Shawn Gallagher admitted being in possession of the drug at his flat in Singer Gardens on April 27 last year.

At a hearing at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on August 31, the 32-year-old pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of the class A drug.

The court was told police executed a search warrant at the property and recovered a quantity of cocaine weighing 230.58 grams from a unit in one of the bedrooms.

Fiscal depute Meghan Glancey said this was likely the remains of a quarter kilo deal, which wholesale goes for £9,500.

But if broken into one gram deals at £100 each, its potential value would be £23,000.

There was also 2.73g of benzocaine, which is a mixing agent for cocaine, while £440 in mixed notes were found in the boiler cupboard.

The Crown made an application for the confiscation of the money.

Sheriff Maxwell Hendry deferred sentence for social work and restriction of liberty assessments to be prepared.

He said: “I’m quite certain that this is a very serious matter.”

Gallagher remains on bail and will return to court for sentencing on October 8.
