A MAN who made a false report to police claiming he had attempted suicide in Drumchapel has been admonished as he gets appropriate support.
Thomas Robertson, previously of Peel View and now of Granville Street, both Clydebank, had previously pleaded guilty to making the report on August 7, 2020, sparking urgent efforts by police and others to find him.
Dumbarton Sheriff Court heard on August 27 that Robertson had not been in any further trouble or caused difficulties to his family since the incident.

Defence solicitor Judith Reid told the court: “His mental health difficulties are concerning and these need to be under control by other services.”
Sheriff William Gallacher admonished the 51-year-old on the basis that “other things that are far better for you are in place”.
He told Robertson to take the advice and support on offer to him.
The sheriff said: “You were very much a cause of concern to the police and others and your family. I’m persuaded what’s happening elsewhere in terms of your treatment is enough.
“I don’t expect to see you again.”
