A pet owner turned heads this week after taking their snake for a walk around Drumry.

The boa constrictor, thought to be around six feet long, was spotted sunbathing on a grassy patch near Onslow Road during the heatwave on Wednesday.

A video of the serpent was posted on social media and has since been viewed over 125,000 times.

Users were left in disbelief by the footage, with one saying: "No sleeping the night after seeing that".

Another viewer added: "Reason 5262 to not go outside".

The snake is understood to be well known in the area and is often seen outside when the weather is warm.

The cold-blooded creatures are known to enjoy basking in sunshine as it helps to maintain their body temperature and bodily functions.
