A CLYDEBANK business has reached the finals of Scotland’s most prestigious industry trade event - and it needs your votes to win.

Innovation Flooring Scotland, based on South Elgin Place, was nominated in the ‘Best Flooring Company’ category of this year’s Scottish Home Improvement Awards.

The top voted companies from each category are invited to an awards ceremony in October where the winners will be announced.

David Woodcock, who owns Innovation Flooring Scotland, told the Post he is is “grateful” for the support of the Clydebank community.

He said: “I set up the business in January 2019 and I was working out of the back of my van.

“We secured our premises in Clydebank about 14 months ago and it just grew from there.

“We never actually entered the awards ourselves, it was the customers who entered for us.

“I didn’t know the awards existed until I got an email saying that we had reached the finals. It’s between us and five other flooring companies in Scotland.

“I was shocked when I found out we had reached the finals. Obviously we try our hardest to do the best work we possibly can for people, and it’s clearly had a good impact if our customers have been voting for us.”

David is asking Bankies to rally behind the business once again ahead of the awards ceremony.

He added: “We were closed for certain periods throughout the pandemic but insurance work still continued throughout Covid, as it is essential to get people back into their homes.

“We also did some non-contact deliveries. It could’ve been better but we coped alright.

“The winners will be revealed at an awards ceremony on October 29 and we hope to have about 16 of us there.

“The Clydebank community have been really good to us and we’re appealing for them to get behind us again by voting for us.

“We’d just like to thank everyone because it must’ve taken a lot of votes for us to get this far, and we are forever grateful for the support.”
