Young people in Clydebank will be able to call a helpline for exam support when results are published this week.

Around 145,000 pupils across Scotland will have their final National, Higher and Advanced Higher results confirmed on Tuesday, August 10 after provisional results were published earlier this summer.

Skills Development Scotland’s exam results helpline will be open for calls from Tuesday onwards.

Shirley-Anne Somerville, Scotland’s education secretary, said: “The helpline offers young people an excellent source of advice and I’d appeal to learners who have questions about their next steps to use this valuable resource.

“Whether it’s practical advice about options, or reassurance following SQA results, the advisers are ready to help.”

Sharon McIntyre, SDS’s head of career information, advice and guidance operations, said: “We know that receiving results has been a very different experience for young people and their families this year.

"It’s important to reassure them that whatever their confirmed results are, our advisers are there to provide support and expert advice on their options.”

Pupils will be able to call the helpline on 0808 100 8000 from 8am-8pm on Tuesday, August 10 and Wednesday, August 11, 9am-5pm on Thursday, August 12 and Friday, August 13 – and again from 9am-5pm from August 16 to 18.

Advisers will also be available on social media by direct message to My World of Work on Facebook – facebook.com/myworldofwork – or on Instagram at instagram.com/mywowscotland.
