Trains had to be diverted this morning due to a passenger "refusing the leave a train" in Clydebank.

It was confirmed by ScotRail that there was a "passenger disturbance" at Dalmuir station at around 7.20am today.

ScotRail announced that services running between Balloch and Airdrie, Motherwell and Dalmuir and Cumbernauld and Dalmuir had to be diverted via Yoker.

British Transport Police officers attended to deal with the incident.

Meanwhile, passengers at Singer, Drumry, Drumchapel, Westerton and Anniesland looking to travel to Dalmuir were advised to travel to Hyndland to get a connection to Dalmuir via Yoker.

The disruption ended around one hour later, and services are no longer affected.

A BTP spokeswoman said: "Officers were called to Dalmuir station at 7.19am this morning following reports of a man refusing to leave the train.

"Officers attended and the man had already left the station."
