Our latest picture of the week was taken by reader Elspeth Pirrie, who spotted the last seagoing paddle steamer in the world, PS Waverley, passing by Bowling Basin on her way “doon the watter”.

The famous ship’s Clyde cruising programme began last month and continues until August 22.

It’s the ship’s first full season in service since 2018 - last year’s programme was cut back to just a few days because of the pandemic, and in 2019 she was confined to port for the whole year after it was discovered her boilers urgently needed replaced.

If you would like one of your favourite scenic pictures of Clydebank and the surrounding area to be considered for publication in a future edition of the Post, please send it to editorial@clydebankpost.co.uk or via Facebook or Twitter with brief details of where, when and by whom it was taken.

Thanks - and happy snapping!
