TWO vehicles were set on fire last night in Clydebank in the second attack this week in the community.

Firefighters rushed to Radnor Park just before 10.30pm on Thursday night and found two vehicles set on fire.

A van was severely damaged and a small digger on a separate trailer was also damaged near Lennox View. There were no injuries.

Earlier this week, a mobile generator under the Erskine Bridge in Old Kilpatrick was set alight. Police are seeking a group of teenagers for that July 12 vandalism and said it is not connected to the Radnor Park incident.

Detectives are treating the attacks as wilful fire-raising.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said the service was alerted to two reports of vehicles on fire at Lennox View at 10.28pm and 10.32pm and that firefighters from a single appliance had extinguished one fire affecting a mechanical digger and one affecting a van.

The spokesperson added: “There were no reported casualties and crews left after ensuring the area was made safe.”
