Three people were left injured after a 'fight' involving youths on a train via the Clydebank area.

Officers from the British Transport Police were called to the scene at Anniesland station after the alarm was raised around 6.25pm yesterday. 

Police attended after reports of a fight involving a group of young people on a train from Balloch, and that three people had to be treated for superficial injuries.

One person was arrested but officers confirmed that they had been released.

Trains running through the station were cancelled or delayed at the time and investigations into the incident are continuing.

The train involved was the 5.38pm service from Balloch, which had called at stations including Bowling, Kilpatrick, Dalmuir, Singer, Drumry and Drumchapel before arriving at Anniesland.

A spokesperson for BTP said: "British Transport Police were called to Anniesland railway station at 6.24pm yesterday (July 1) following reports of a fight involving a group of youths on-board a train travelling from Balloch.

"Officers attended, and one person was arrested on suspicion of a Section 38 offence. They have since been released while enquiries into this incident continue.

"Three people received treatment for superficial injuries."
