A FAMILY of seven baby cygnets has been born to the swans who live on the Forth and Clyde Canal in the centre of Clydebank this week.
Photographer Michael Christie managed to take a picture of one of the swans keeping a careful eye on their eggs while he was out doing some exercise.
He captured the special moment which he spotted the nest on the canal near the Screwfix store on Whitecrook Street.
However, when he came back the next day all the eggs had hatched.
He told the Post: "I was doing a bit of cardio exercise outdoors as it was a lovely day.
"I saw the swan as I went by and I had to stop as I have never seen it happen before.
"There was only one that hatched when I walked past, and when I came back they all hatched."
