A MAN has been charged with drink driving after he was reportedly found to be almost three times over the legal alcohol limit.

Police received reports of a Ford Fiesta being driven towards Garelochhead in a reckless manner on Wednesday, May 5.

Officers say they identified the vehicle sitting stationary on the A814 near Faslane at around 11pm.

The driver, a 25-year-old man from Kent, allegedly failed a roadside breath test before being arrested and transferred to Clydebank police station.

According to police, further samples of breath gave readings approaching three times the legal alcohol limit of 22 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 ml of breath.

The man was charged with drink driving and is due in court later this month.
