A potentially "horrific" fire was set in a block of high flats on Friday evening.
The fire was set in a rubbish chute in Park Court, Littleholm Place, at about 6.30pm on April 30.
Fire services attended and extinguished the blaze. Police are now investigating the wilful fire-raising and appealed for witnesses.
Detective Constable Iain Allison, of Clydebank CID, said: “No-one was injured but this fire could have had horrific consequences in such a high storey block. Fortunately the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) extinguished it quickly.
“The fire is being treated as wilful and we are carrying out a joint investigation with the SFRS. Anyone who saw anything suspicious is asked to get in touch.
“If you can help with our enquiries please call us on 101, quoting incident 2935 of Friday, April 30, or make a call anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
