A FLAT door was deliberately set on fire in Dalmuir, police report.

The property in Dalmuir Court was targeted sometime between 10pm on Tuesday, March 30 and just after midnight.

There was no severe damage to the door as the fire did not take hold. Police forced their way into the flat to ensure everyone was safe but nobody was home. They said it could have been much more severe.

Detectives in Clydebank are investigating and appealing for witnesses.

Detective Constable Iain Alison, of Clydebank CID said: “The door to a property was set alight and whilst no one was injured, this was a reckless crime which could have had dire consequences had the fire taken effect more completely.
