A YOUNG Knightswood pupil is looking to get the help of Bankies to become the winner of a national poster competition.

Tamzyn Allan, 12, has been selected as a finalist in the national Sense Over Sectarianism poster competition.

Thousands of people across the country entered the competition and she was selected as one of five in the secondary school category.

If her poster wins the competition, it will be used in the upcoming Sense Over Sectarianism national week of action, being held online and in schools from February 22-26.

Her proud mum Lynsey said that her personal positive message is a way to stamp out sectarianism, which remains a pervasive influence in west of Scotland society.

She told the Post: "It is such a massive achievement. She worked very hard to create this poster.

"She is such a positive and happy wee girl. This is such as important issue to her and publishing this message would mean a lot.

"She was encouraged by her English department to enter and we are all proud that she is only one of five.

"It would be amazing if the local community could get behind her and vote for her to win."

The vote is being held on Twitter – to give Tamzyn's entry your backing just go to @sos_glasgow on Twitter and 'like' Finalist B's photo.

Voting closes at 12pm on Friday, February 19.
