A COMMUNITY food bank is celebrating after securing an electric delivery van.
Old Kilpatrick Food Parcels (OKFP) got its hands on the vehicle on February 4 after receiving funding from the National Lottery Community Fund.
The white van is adorned with the charity’s rainbow logo and contact details.
Taking to Facebook, the team of volunteers described it as “a very proud day for OKFP”.
The van’s arrival put a smile back on the faces of the project’s volunteers after storm damage forced them to suspend public access to their base at The Depot in the village’s Gavinburn Business Park.
Food parcels can still be picked up from Dalmuir Barclay Church from 12 noon to 1pm, Monday to Friday.
Free packed lunches for children – each containing a sandwich, fruit, breakfast bar, crisps, sweets and juice – are also available from the same venue at the same times.
