A RAPIST who attacked a woman twice at a house in Clydebank just after she had given birth has been jailed for five years.
Cameron Manson, 31, from Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, was convicted of raping the woman on two separate occasions between April 28 and May 21, 2017.
Passing sentence at the High Court in Glasgow on Friday, judge Lord Fairley told first offender Manson: “You were convicted on a single charge of two separate incidents of raping her in April and May 2017, shortly after she gave birth to a child.
“In evidence you said both incidents were consensual.”
Defence counsel Louise Arrol said that Manson continues to maintain his innocence, but added: “He respects the verdict of the jury.”
Manson was placed on the sex offenders' register.
