West Dunbartonshire residents are being encouraged to donate to the Scottish Book Trust’s Christmas fundraising appeal which will give books to families in need this winter.
The charity has launched the appeal in response to the growing demand for food banks as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
They hope to bring some comfort and togetherness over the festive season by giving books to those families who are depending on food banks and community hubs.
It comes as a survey run by the charity during lockdown revealed that 98 per cent of respondents believed that reading supports their wellbeing while 64 per cent believed that reading made them feel less isolated.
