A WEST Dunbartonshire food bank scheme has held an online conference in a bid to create new links between the project and other community initiatives in the area.

The meeting, organised by Food For Thought, was held as part of efforts to establish a support network across the area.

Food For Thought’s founders hope the initiative will allow them and those other agencies to help each other and make sure that people get more than just one particular type of help.

It is hoped that over a period of time the group will be able to triage members of the public and tailor support to them.

For example, if someone uses a food bank and requires debt management support or mental health support, then this can be determined at the earliest possible point and ensure service users are getting a full package of help.
