NICOLA Sturgeon has praised a young Scot who dressed up as her for Halloween and did his own Janey Godley-style Covid briefing as a "wee star".

Alyson Welsh shared a video of her young son, in costume as the First Minister, addressing the nation at a daily briefing.

The boy says: "You wir telt! Stay in the hoose. Nae parties, save lives."

He then goes on to sign off with Janey Godley's now famous catchphrase, saying: "Frank, get the door!"

ENTER THE NATIONAL'S WESTMINSTER HALLOWEEN CONTEST

The performance caught the First Minister's eye, who tweeted in response that the young lad had given her a "much needed laugh".

Sturgeon wrote: "Thank you Alyson Welsh - this has made me smile and given me a much needed laugh this morning.

"What a wee star - I think we might draft him in for the daily briefings!"

The National is running its own costume contest this Halloween, but the young lad's effort were too focused on Holyrood to enter unfortunately.

If you and your family are bored cooped up on Halloween night, why not dress up as some of the most ridiculous (or sometimes even scary) elements of Westminster and send us a picture?

You can do so here. We're looking forward to seeing them all!
