The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) is encouraging young Bankies to think about firefighting as a career.
Their latest recruitment drive, “We are SFRS...You are SFRS”, features firefighters speaking about their own unique backgrounds and experiences to inspire a new generation and more people from under-represented groups to follow in their footsteps.
Liz Barnes, SFRS director of people and organisational development, said: “If you have the commitment, the fitness, the enthusiasm and the drive to work as part of a national team to save lives - then you are SFRS.”

However, potential applicants are also being urged to make sure they are prepared to meet the service’s high entry standards.
Liz added: “We do have high fitness standards but our training department will work to ensure that everyone is fully supported.”
Recruits will undergo a three month training programme, during which they will learn how to tackle fires in homes, rescue casualties and learn first aid.
