Several roads in the city centre have been closed off after a bus crashed into scaffolding. 

Emergency services were called to the scene on St Vincent Street at 5.40pm after receiving a report of the collision. 

Several roads within the city centre have now been closed off until further notice as police have confirmed the scaffolding is unsafe. 

Roads temporarily closed off include Hope Street at its junction with Waterloo Street, St Vincent Street with its junction at Renfield Street and Bothwell Street at its junction with Wellington Street. 

Fire crews currently attend the scene where motorists are being diverted via alternative routes. 

There are no injuries as a result of the crash.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "We were called around 5.40pm after a bus collided with some scaffolding on St Vincent Street, Glasgow, near the junction with Hope Street.

"No ambulance was needed and the passengers got off the bus safely. The road was closed for a short time."

UPDATE: All roads have now reopened.
