PUPILS from a Clydebank primary school have been recognised for their commitments to helping nature.
Linnvale’s P5/6 and P6 pupils have received the Bronze Wild Challenge Award from the RSPB after completing six challenges.
The classes have made mini wildlife ponds, carried out wildflower surveys, learned the names of the species of trees in their school woodland and written poetry inspired by nature.
Carol Guthrie, who takes the classes for outdoor learning, said: “This has been a wonderful experience for these hard working pupils, who have taken great pride in improving their school grounds and local area to benefit the flora and fauna in the future.
“The children are excited to see what difference their bug hotels and mini ponds will make. The boys and girls have been outside in all types of weather without any complaints and thoroughly enjoyed taking their learning outside.”
