A PERSON has died after being hit by a train at Kilpatrick rail station.

ScotRail confirmed that the Dalmuir to Dumbarton Central line was closed last night whilst emergency services were in attendance at around 9pm.

The British Transport Police (BTP) confirmed that the person died at the scene and the death is not being treated as suspicious.

A BTP spokesman said: “Officers were called to Kilpatrick station at 8.54pm on 14 September following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

"Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”

The line has reopened but rail users are still being advised to check their journery as services may still be cancelled, delayed or revised.
