CLYDEBANK Leisure Centre’s facilities are set to reopen to the public next week – almost six months after lockdown limits saw the doors closed.

The centre’s swimming will reopen from Wednesday, September 16, but until further notice members and non-members alike will have to book a public swimming slot.

Times can be booked via the WD Leisure app or by using the online booking system at west-dunbarton.gov.uk.

Existing WD Leisure members can book slots seven days in advance, from Wednesday, September 9 onwards, while non-members can pre-book from September 15.

Meanwhile, a ‘phased approach’ to the restart of swimming lessons for school children will be implemented from September 9. The area’s swimming development team will email current customers from September 14 onwards.

The centre’s gym will reopen to the public on Monday, September 14, but with a reduced maximum capacity of 45 customers at a time.

All gym sessions last for 50 minutes, and existing West Dunbartonshire Leisure members can book a slot in advance now.

Non-members must wait until one day in advance of their preferred date to book a place, and all bookings must be paid for at the time of booking, unless you hold a membership that includes gym access.

Fitness classes will also resume on September 14 and advance bookings can be made now via the app or online booking system.

Sports classes for children will begin a phased return from Monday, September 21, except for swimming lessons, where the phased return won’t begin until Tuesday, September 29.

West Dunbartonshire Leisure’s swimming development team will contact their current customers from September 14 via email with details of any changes to pre-lockdown lesson programmes or times.
