Dumbarton and the Vale animal lovers are being asked to donate vital supplies to the Scottish SPCA Dunbartonshire centre.

The animal welfare charity is running low on much needed essential items for the animals in their care, and is asking members of the public to help.

All nine of the Scottish SPCA rescue and rehoming centres are still closed to the public. Although virtual rehoming is now available via the Scottish SPCA website, due to lockdown restrictions they have a higher than usual number of animals in their care.

Kim Mackrell, assistant manager at the Dunbartonshire centre in Milton, said: “Our team have continued to be there for Scotland’s animals over lockdown and provide them with the care they need.

“We know that times are uncertain but we are asking that people don’t forget the animals.

“To continue to provide the animals at our centre with the best possible care, we need your support.

“We would greatly appreciate donations of any of the items listed on our Amazon wishlist.

“Items purchased through Amazon can be sent directly to our centre, but they can also be bought elsewhere and dropped off to us.

“We understand that times are difficult just now but we, and the animals, would appreciate anything that people can spare.”

Towels, blankets, bedding and other items needed are detailed in the centre’s Amazon wishlist here.
