A PUB in Clydebank has closed its doors following a positive coronavirus case.
Chandlers has closed to the public voluntarily whilst a deep clean of the establishment is carried out.
In a post on their Facebook page, staff wrote: "Unfortunately we have had to close for the time being.
"Despite our best efforts to adhere to current Covid regulations the virus has struck in the pub.
"Therefore to air on the side of caution and behave socially responsible we have voluntarily shut the pub in order to conduct a deep clean and sterilise every surface, all NHS track and protect information has been passed on and all bar staff are being tested.
"We hope to see you all ASAP. #staysafe."
Customers reacted with well wishes and praised the pub's management and staff members.
One person wrote: "Been in loads and have always been asked to sign in...staff always cleaning. Hope all safe."
Another added: "It’s extremely difficult for pubs at the moment. The majority are trying to adhere to government guidelines. Any pubs I have been in have been doing their utmost to keep their staff and customers safe, including, from personal experience, Chandlers I hasten to add. It’s also to Chandlers credit that they have taken this extremely difficult decision to close the pub."
