A POST Office that was due to open in March but was put off due to the coronavirus pandemic is now welcoming customers.

The Hardgate Post Office re-opened yesterday at a new location - SPAR, 74-76 Dumbarton Road - where it is now known as Duntocher Post Office.

The previous branch at Kilbowie Road in Hardgate closed in February 2017.

Duntocher Post Office was originally due to open a few months ago but was delayed as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

Post Office services will be offered from a low-screened, open-plan, serving point alongside the retail counter.

Robert Sharp, Post Office change manager, said: “We are delighted to be able to restore Post Office service to the area. We have made it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents.

"We are confident that this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs.”

The opening hours will be Monday to Friday, 8am-8pm and Saturday, 9am-5pm.

A wide range of services will be offered including mail, stamps, shopping returns, international parcels, car tax, withdrawals, deposits and payments, mobile top-ups and more.
