A woman was violently pushed to the ground and robbed by a teenager on Monday afternoon.

The 47-year-old woman was walking along Anniesland Road close to Farmfoods at around 4.15pm before a young man violently pushed her and snatched her phone. 

The thief made off with the stolen item through a nearby park towards Kingsway Court. 

The woman suffered minor injuries and contacted police.

Officers are now appealing to the public for information as they try to trace the culprit. 

The man is described as white, in his teens or early twenties, slim build wearing a black bandana, black t-shirt, black zipped hoodie and black knee-length shorts.

PC Matthew McCann of the Greater Glasgow Robbery Unit said: "This was a violent and unprovoked attack in broad daylight. Enquiries into the incident are ongoing. 

"I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed anything in the area of Anniesland Road to contact us or who has any information that could aid our enquiries to come forward. 

"We would also ask anyone who was driving in the area around that time to review any dashcam footage they may have and apss on anything which could assist our enquiry."
