A WOMAN was “violently” pushed to the ground and robbed of her mobile phone as she was walking along the street.

The 47-year-old was near to Farmfoods on Anniesland Road when she was assaulted by a young man who stole her mobile phone from her hand on Monday, August 10 at around 4.15pm.

The thief then ran away through a nearby park towards Kingsway Court.

He is described as white, in his teens or early twenties, slim build wearing a black bandana, black t-shirt, black zipped hoodie and black knee length shorts.

PC Matthew McCann, of the Greater Glasgow Robbery Unit, said: "This was a violent and unprovoked attack in broad daylight. Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

"I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed anything in the area of Anniesland Road to contact us or who has any information that could aid our enquiries to come forward.

"We would also ask anyone who was driving in the area around that time to review any dashcam footage they may have and pass on anything which could assist our enquiry."
