MEMBERS of the West Dunbartonshire Youth Council (WDYC) have said that tackling poverty will be one of their key priorities in the coming years.
It comes after the WDYC received more than 600 responses to a consultation asking the area’s young people what the biggest issues are facing them today.
Reacting to the results of the survey, Jamie Baird, chair of the Youth Council, said: “Poverty was an issue highlighted and we believe this is connected to all of the other issues.
“As a youth council, we recognise that West Dunbartonshire is an area of multiple deprivation with many of our children and young people currently living in poverty.
“This is an issue that we are committed to addressing throughout all of the campaigns we run.”
